Cub Shield provides access to information collected from public and government records, licensed data providers, publicly available databases, and other open sources. The information displayed may include criminal or court related records, registry information, address or contact details, property records, civil filings, and similar categories of public information.

Cub Shield does not guarantee that the information provided is accurate, complete, or current. Public record data may contain errors or omissions, may be outdated, or may not reflect recent updates made by the original agency. Users should independently verify any information before relying on it.

Cub Shield is not a consumer reporting agency. The platform does not provide consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The information available through Cub Shield may not be used for employment screening, tenant screening, credit decisions, insurance decisions, eligibility determinations, or any other purpose regulated by federal or state consumer reporting laws. By using the platform, users agree that they are accessing the information solely for personal safety, awareness, and general information.

Users agree not to use Cub Shield to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person, or for any unlawful or abusive purpose. The platform may not be used to invade privacy, engage in unauthorized surveillance, or violate the rights of any individual.

Cub Shield may use service providers, payment processors, analytics tools, and security partners to operate and maintain the service. The company does not sell personal information.

Users must be at least 18 years old to access or use the platform.

Use of the platform constitutes agreement to these terms.

Updated Liability Disclaimer & User Agreement

1. Purpose and Scope ("No Guarantee of Safety")

This platform is provided strictly for informational child safety purposes, helping parents research people and areas of concern. The service is intended for use only within the continental United States. IMPORTANT: CUB SHIELD DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE SAFETY, SECURITY, OR WELL-BEING OF ANY INDIVIDUAL. You acknowledge that this platform is a data aggregation tool and not a physical security service, law enforcement agency, or emergency provider. The absence of a warning or record on this platform does not mean a person or area is safe, nor does the presence of a record guarantee a threat exists. This tool is not a substitute for prudent safety measures or law enforcement assistance.

2. Auditing and Compliance

To ensure the integrity of our safety mission, all user activity—including but not limited to search queries and data inputs—is logged and archived. Cub Shield reserves the right to conduct periodic audits of this data to monitor compliance with these terms. By using the platform, you expressly consent to such monitoring and auditing of your usage, and you acknowledge that you have no expectation of privacy regarding your interactions with the platform’s safety tools.

3. Prohibited Conduct & Termination of Use

Cub Shield reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to monitor user behavior and to immediately terminate or suspend accounts without notice for any conduct that violates these terms. You agree strictly NOT to engage in the following prohibited conduct:

Disrespectful or Abusive Behavior: Transmitting content or communicating with support staff, employees, the AI system, or other users in a manner that is disrespectful, profane, vulgar, obscene, defamatory, threatening, overly aggressive, or abusive.

Hate Speech & Harassment: Using the platform to promote bigotry, racism, discrimination, or to stalk, harass, or publicly reveal private information ("dox") about any individual.

Unlawful Use: Using the platform for any illegal purpose or in furtherance of criminal activity.

In the event of termination, your right to use the platform will cease immediately.

4. Data Sources, Accuracy, and Inability to Modify Data

4.1. Nature of Sources: You acknowledge that Cub Shield functions solely as a search aggregator. We compile information from third-party sources, including open-source intelligence (OSINT), publicly available government records (such as court and inmate records), and commercial data brokers.

4.2. No Control & Inability to Delete: Cub Shield does not create, maintain, or own the underlying data. Therefore, we do not have the ability, authority, or technical means to fix, change, update, redact, or delete specific records found within these third-party databases. If you identify inaccurate or outdated information, Cub Shield cannot change or remove it. You must address such disputes directly with the original source.

4.3. No Guarantee of Accuracy: Cub Shield does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information provided. Public records and data broker files may be outdated, incomplete, or contain errors. All information is provided “AS IS” and you agree to independently verify critical information through official channels before relying on it.

5. NOT A CONSUMER REPORTING AGENCY (FCRA WARNING)

Cub Shield is NOT a "Consumer Reporting Agency" as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.) ("FCRA"). The information provided on this platform has not been collected for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports. You are expressly prohibited from using this platform to establish a person's eligibility for:

Employment, promotion, or retention (including hiring household help).

Tenancy or housing.

Credit or insurance.

Government licenses or benefits.

Using this data for FCRA-regulated purposes is a violation of federal law and this Agreement.

6. Assumption of Risk

By using this service, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with relying on AI-generated analyses or aggregated data for safety-related decisions. The platform’s outputs may include "hallucinations," false positives, or false negatives. You assume full responsibility for any decisions you make based on the information provided. In urgent or life-threatening situations, always contact professional authorities or emergency services.

7. No Warranties ("As Is" Service)

THIS PLATFORM AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. CUB SHIELD DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF ACURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CUB SHIELD AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM. THIS INCLUDES DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON INACCURATE DATA, THE INABILITY TO REMOVE INCORRECT DATA, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

9. Exclusive Remedy; Cap on Liability

Your exclusive remedy shall be strictly limited to the amount you paid (if any) for use of the service. If you have paid no fees, Cub Shield’s maximum aggregate liability to you shall not exceed $0 (or the minimum amount required by applicable law, e.g., $100.00). Under no circumstances will Cub Shield’s aggregate liability exceed the fees actually paid by you for the service.

10. Dispute Resolution (Mediation Agreement)

By using this platform, you agree that any dispute or claim shall first be subject to informal negotiation and resolution through mediation. You agree to attempt in good faith to resolve the issue by participating in mediation before pursuing other legal remedies.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State in which Cub Shield is headquartered. Subject to the mediation requirement, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Cub Shield’s principal place of business.

12. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force. This document constitutes the entire agreement between you and Cub Shield. By accessing or using the platform, you indicate that you have read and agree to all terms. If you do not agree, you must refrain from using the platform.
